Parking on single yellow lines is permitted only outside the times of control for the waiting restrictions that are applicable to that particular section of single yellow line.
The times and days of control for a single yellow line (outside of a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ)) will be shown on a time plate adjacent to the stretch of single yellow line. If the restriction says, for example, Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 6.30pm then that section of single yellow line is enforced on those days and therefore will be controlled on Good Friday, Bank and Public holidays between those times.
If the time plate does not show any days of operation (see 'At Any Time' example) then the restriction applies for each day of the week including Good Friday, Bank and Public holidays.
Within Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ's) the single yellow lines normally have the same hours of control as the parking bays. e.g. 8.30am until 6.30pm, Mondays to Saturdays. With the exception of the Kingston Town Centre CPZ (Zone A/A1) and part of Canbury CPZ (Zone B) (see below) single yellow lines within CPZ's are not controlled on Good Friday, Bank or Public holidays.
Parking on double yellow lines is not permitted at any time of the day or night and applies on each day of the year.
These parking bays located within a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) will have the times of day and the days of control shown on signs located at each bay and on the payment machines located at shared-use bays.
Within the Kingston Town Centre CPZ (Zone A/A1) and Acre Road (part); Canbury Park Road (part); Cowleaze Road; East Road; Elm Crescent; Elm Grove in the Canbury CPZ (Zone B) these bays, and single yellow lines, are controlled on Good Friday, Bank and Bank Holidays (except Christmas Day).
Outside Zone A/A1 CPZ and the roads listed above for Zone B CPZ controls do not apply to any of the above type of parking bays on Public or Bank Holidays.
All parking bay signs have letters to show which zone you are in, Check before parking.
These bays are reserved for the sole use of vehicles belonging to the Car Club scheme and are controlled 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including Bank and Public Holidays, Good Friday and Christmas Day.
If the sign plate says that the Disabled Bay is only in operation for certain times of the day, and that day is a Public or Bank Holiday, Good Friday or Christmas Day, then that bay may only be used by disabled blue badge holders during those times.
All other disabled parking bays, which do not have times shown on the sign plate are controlled 24 hours a day, each day of the year including Public or Bank Holidays, Good Friday and Christmas Day.
