Specification
It is agreed that the Street Nameplates in Kingston upon Thames have the following specification
Content of Nameplates
- Nameplates to be white ground
- Lettering to be black (90mm Kindersley script)
- Borough logo to be on left side in green (BS ref 318 C 225)
- Locality name to be bottom right side (50mm MOT script)
- Names defined on Plan DS/0265/3) in green lettering (BS ref 318 C 225)
- First part of postcode to be bottom left side (50mm MOT script) in red lettering (BS ref 318 C 537)
- Use of “T” symbol for cul-de-sac streets
- Inclusion of Conservation Area designation, where applicable and appropriate, at the discretion of the Director of Environment.
Material of Nameplates
- Nameplate to be back printed polycarbonate
- Black re-cycled plastic to be the preferred material for nameplate supports (posts 80mm X 80mm) and backboard (all secured with anti-tamper fixings), except where this material would be unsuitable e.g. Town centres, where extruded aluminium framing by Signfix Ltd. (Multiplank and Minipost sections) or similar approved, shall be used.
- Nameplates to be mounted on buildings where existing/appropriate.
- Double sided flag type nameplates to be used where appropriate and where their installation is the most economic method of provision.
