Advice and Guidance
- If you wish to place Mobile Crane on the road, you will have to have to apply to the Local Highway Authority for a licence.
- Mobile Cranes can in certain circumstances be placed on single and double yellow lines. They can also be placed within residential parking bays.
- We can issue a licence to the Cane Company to place a mobile crane on a highway.
- Your contractor will have to supply us with evidence that they are covered with Public Liability Insurance for £6million.
- The Crane Company will be responsible for any damage to the fabric of the highway caused by the mobile crane. They will also be responsible for any damage caused to private property.
- It is a serious offence to place anything on a highway without permission of the Local Highway Authority (Highway Act 1980). If mobile cranes are placed on a highway without a licence, we can prosecute the Crane Company
- You are responsible for the actions of your contractors, To ensure that your contractor has applied for a licence ask for a copy of the licence or the licence number
