As one of the Mayor of London’s Biking Boroughs, Kingston Council has been allocated additional funding from Transport for London to improve and promote cycling. Measures includes improving the cycling infrastructure in and around Kingston Town Centre as well as support to new and existing cyclists that live, work or study in Kingston.
Our priorities include more one to one on-road cyclist training for all ages, providing cycle parking, running campaigns to highlight cycling safely and reducing bike theft. In addition will be running community events and rides in the run up to the Olympic Cycling events that will take place in Kingston in 2012.
We are now implementing the following:
• Bikeability Level 3 is now subsidised
For confident Bikeability Level 2 achievers.
• One-to-one cyclist training is subsidised
For residents and those working in businesses signed up to our Kingston, Surbiton or Chessington Business Travel Networks.
• We have created an easy-to-use on-line booking form which can be accessed using the link below.
For more information and booking see the description of our Cyclist Training programme below.
On-road training is a key part of the programme as it has proved highly effective in encouraging safer and more confident cycling.
