Bringing communities together to celebrate diversity
During the month of October the Royal Borough of Kingston will be joining the rest of the UK to celebrate Black History Month. After more than 30 years, Black History Month continues to grow in size, vibrancy and creativity. For Kingston it is not only a chance to celebrate our Black community, but it also acts as a wonderful platform to celebrate all diversity within the borough and learn about all the cultures that make Kingston such an exciting and interesting place to live.
Black History Month 2008 is set to be vibrant celebration, with a wide range of performances, workshops and events taking place throughout the borough aimed at all age-groups, all faiths and all communities including, an event to empower and optimise the potential of young people, various book readings hosted by local libraries and much, much more!
We would like to encourage children, families, young people and older residents of Royal Borough of Kingston to come and join in the celebration, and you will not be disappointed!
