Sporting achievement, effort and commitment were celebrated at a special awards evening held at the newly rebuilt Chessington Community College on Thursday 20th October 2011
Guests arrived at Chessington Community College on Thursday 20th October 2011 to be greeted by sporting demonstrations from Anthony Carter GB Wheelchair tennis player and Jasmine Asghar U14's GB tennis ace; GB Emma Britton and Kingston Trampoline Academy's Beth Anne-Lumb; and local club Chessington Bowmens archers firing indoors.
Great Britain athletes Mikael Undrom and Dominique Blaize whom both started their careers at Kingsmeadow Meadow Athletics Track spoke in the theatre about their differing experiences within athletics over the last few years.
The borough sports awards are the highest accolade given by the Borough to recognise achievement and services to sport. The awards are presented to club personalities, teams, coaches and volunteers along with the Borough's national athletes and future young hopefuls of London Youth Games.
