The London Youth Games medal winners were invited along to the mayor's parlour on Tuesday 10th October 2006 to be presented with a certificate by the mayor to recognise their outstanding achievements in the London Youth Games 2006.
Kingston came away with 7 gold medals, 12 silver medals and 21 bronze. The Mayor, Councillor Mary Reid said,
"This is quite an achievement given that we are one of the smallest boroughs".
A special mention goes to the trampoline team who came first in their team event. The team which include 2 world champions (twins Andrew and Michael Freeman) beat all other 32 London Boroughs taking part to clinch gold.
