Launched during Black History Month in October, Sharing our Heritage is a project made possible by a grant to our Friends of £3,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund Awards for All programme. This will be used for an oral history project to record the stories of people from the local minority communities. Further details from Emma Rummins on 020 8547 6738.
Memories Matter is another project recently funded by the Bridge House Estates Trust Fund. The Friends have received a grant of £2,500 towards an outreach programme of reminiscence workshops for the older person in Community Day Centres. Contact: Mike Butler on 020 8547 6465.
Souvenir Book
Last year a group of local photographers captured images of people all around the Borough to form an invaluable and unique record for generations to come. The project was made possible when the Friends won nearly £5,000 under the Millennium Awards for All Scheme. The souvenir book is still available and would make a great Christmas present.
