Throughout the year, the museum hosts a whole variety of exhibitions in its art gallery. There are also permanent displays on the history of Kingston.
Permanent Galleries
The permanent galleries offer an insight into the rich heritage existing in Kingston upon Thames. The Eadweard Muybridge Gallery describs the life and work of this internationally renowned Kingston-born pioneer photographer. We also hold a significant collection of Martinware and other art pottery bequeathed to the Museum in the last century by a local businessman. A selection is always on display. A number of items on display have been purchased over the years with funding assistance from the National Art Collections Fund and the V&A Purchase Grant Fund.
Temporary Exhibitions
Our temporary exhibitions programme offers a wide range of subjects. Around ten are held annually and may include arts, crafts, photography and local history.
Community Showcase
If you are involved in a local group and wish to publicise activities and show work, we have a small display cabinet at the front of the museum.
