Our Kingston Local History Room contains a huge resource for the study of Kingston's history and we have found out many details about our traders and Civil War events from the Borough's archives. We have a large collection of printed histories. A good place to start is the Book of Kingston by Shaan Butters, a much respected local historian. You can buy copies in the Museum shop.

The most comprehensive report on the traders' tokens is contained in a recent article by Tim Everson in Surrey Archaeological Collections, 88, pp 43-66, 2001. Copies can be seen in the Local History Room.
