Traders Tokens Childrens Activity 1 Answers

All the answers can be found by clicking on the names of the traders who made the tokens.

Remember that you had 40 farthing tokens to buy all the things you needed for the party.  Did you have enou

gh?

  1. Where will you get 1 pair of buckles?
    Answer: Henry Male is a blacksmith and sells shoe buckles for 8 farthing tokens a pair
     Where will you get a pair of new shoes?
    Answer: Stephen Hubbard is a cordwainer (another name for shoemaker) and sells shoes for 12 farthing tokens.
     

    You now have 20 tokens.  will it be enough?


     
  2. Where will you get wool for a new doublet?
    Answer: James Levitt is a mercer who sells fabric.  You can buy enough wool for your doublet for 10 farthing tokens.
     
  3. Where will you get a barrel of beer?
    Answer: Edward Buldwin is a cooper (he makes barrels) and sells barrels of beer for 9 farthing tokens each.

If you got all the answers right you should be finely dressed for the party and you will still have one token left.

Oh, but we forgot to mention...the ferry to Hampton Court Palace will cost you one token, so unless you walk you won't have any tokens le
