You now have access to the stock of 14 other library authorities as well as the Royal Borough of Kingston. However, as with the introduction of any new system, there may be some minor alterations needed to ensure it works as well as we would like. If you experience any problems when using it, please report it to libwteam@rbk.kingston.gov.uk. That way, we can ensure any issues can be sorted out as quickly as possible.
There is still a minor problem with the way reservations are working. If you cannot reserve a book online please contact your local library or use the online feedback form with your details, your chosen pick up branch and the details of the book you were trying to request.
The latest problem, which we hope will soon be fixed, is renewals, these are generating Internal errors. If you experience any problems please use the feedback form to contact the libraries.
When contacting the libraries, because email addresess do not always identify you, please include your library card number as it makes it easier to work out who you are and sort out any problems.

Working in partnership with the staff at Mind in Kingston, Kingston Libraries have created a collection of 150 self-help books which aim to help people with mild to moderate mental health problems learn more about their conditions and provide steps to overcoming their symptoms and regaining their lives.
The 50 titles forming the basis of the collection were suggested by the staff at Mind in Kingston and also from a wider national initiative, Books On Prescription.
The original collection is located at Kingston Library, but there are now collections at Surbiton Library, New Malden Library and Hook & Chessington Library as well. However the books are freely available to reserve and borrow by anyone through all the borough libraries.
Hook and Chessington Library now has a Special Needs Collection of stock, aimed at parents or carers of children with special needs. The bulk of the collection has been donated by The National Autistic Society – Kingston Branch, but there are also some items which were specially bought for the collection following suggestions from MAPS, which is a parent support group for children with special needs.
The collection of material is all on the catalogue, and has the shelf mark “Special Needs”. Anyone can borrow from it on an adult library card for the usual three week period, and there are fines if returned or renewed late. However, all the items may be reserved free of charge.
A list of the titles in the collection can be printed off below or further details can be obtained by contacting Hook & Chessington Library, details on the library branch page.
