Organised by Kingston Arts and programmed by Festival Director, Ben Costello, the 2011 Festival of the Voice draws upon a wealth of vocal talent featuring a variety of conductors, composers and artists. This year’s programme includes a broad sweep of events to appeal to different tastes and reflect key themes of Greek Mythology, Heroes and Heroines and the build-up to the Olympic Games in 2012. In addition to the performances and the opportunity for young people to get involved, audiences can enjoy pre-concert discussions and open rehearsals as well as two new Festival Commissions from local composers Kevin Jones and William Morris.
The Festival showcases many different venues across the borough including the recently refurbished St Andrew's Church in Surbiton which will act as the festival's 'home' and venue for a number of events.
A pdf of the full programme, including box office information, will be available soon on this page, so please check back for future updates. In the meantime please visit Kingston Arts website to view the programme or enquiries. Published programmes will be available from the borough libraries and in the October issue of Time and Leisure magazine.
Festival of the Voice is grant-aided by the borough and sponsored by John Lewis Kingston.
