Albany Park offers Adult (age 18+) Sailing courses at The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Level 1, 2 and 3 and RYA Seamanship. External link can be found at the bottom of the page.
The crafts used in conjunction with these courses are Laser Pico, Topper Vibe, Wanderer (crewed), Wayfarer (crewed) and Sport 16 (performance boat).
The Adult RYA Start Sailing Course will focus on basic sailing techniques, manoeuvres and safety whilst afloat.
Working in small groups, this course is ideal for beginners.
The Adult RYA Basic Skills Sailing Course will offer a good knowledge of sailing, being aware of safety issues and being capable of sailing without an instructor in light winds.
A follow-on to the Start Sailing Course, or for students already possessing reasonable experience of sailing.
The Adult RYA Better Sailing Course seeks to bridge the gap between Start Sailing [L1], Basic Skills [L2] and the five advanced modules. This ‘Better Sailing’ course is for those sailors who have successfully completed an RYA Level 2 ‘Basic Skills’ course.
The Adult RYA Seamanship Skills Course is aimed at improving boat handling skills, increasing sailing knowledge and being able to sail proficiently in stronger winds.
