These courses offer British Canoe Union (BCU) 1, 2 and 3 Star Training
The BCU 1 star Training Adult Kayak Introduction Course teaches the basic strokes enabling you to enjoy your time afloat. This course is ideal for beginners.
The BCU 2 star Training Adult Kayak Improvers Course will aid the transition into becoming a kayaker, fine tuning the skills learned at the introductory stage. Additional strokes will be introduced as you become more comfortable with your kayak, further developing your boat handling techniques. Course applicants need to have previously attended a BCU 1 star course, or are already able to apply basic strokes.
The BCU 3 star Training Adult Kayak Intermediate Course will teach you control with real skill combining many of the traditional techniques under the direction of a senior coach. This 2 day course will include a days journey. An action plan will be drafted on completion of this course for each participant. Course applicants should already have completed the Improver course or hold a BCU 2 star Award.

Regular Kayak and Open Canoe training sessions including group trips, flatwater tours and during the winter months moving water trips and tours.
These sessions take place on a Saturday morning from 10am to 12.30pm and operate as drop-in sessions on a first come first served basis, so no booking is required. Adults and young people aged 8+ are welcome but please note this club is not for beginners as all participants must have achieved BCU 1 Star, or attended an Albany Park Beginners course.
