We are committed to delivering services of the highest quality at the best value for money for our residents. Value for money (VFM) does not necessarily mean finding the cheapest option, and we work hard to commission the most efficient and effective contracts.
How are we doing?
- We constantly review the contracts across all service areas and the Council is consolidating contracts where appropriate.
- All major works are market tested to ensure that VFM is delivered.
- The Council has renegotiated prices with its main Housing repairs contractors for a wide range of key components and services.
- We keep levels of staffing and roles and responsibilities under review to ensure they are appropriate.
Looking Forward
- The Council will work with its tenants to review the existing repairs and maintenance to ensure that the prices charged are competitive and that they deliver a high quality service.
- The Council will look at the way it obtains other goods and services to deliver the decent homes programme and ensure that it delivers good value for money.
- The Council will ensure that where appropriate services are shared across service areas.
- The Council will explore sharing services with other council’s or agencies where this is appropriate for delivering better services at a lower cost.

Conclusion The Council continues to improve its performance on delivering Value for Money and continues to pursue further initiatives
