Supporting People services may be Accommodation based or non accommodation based. In accommodation based services people usually move into a property where they get support to help them live independently. Examples of accommodation based services are sheltered housing, supported housing projects or women's refuges.
Some people may not need accommodation based support or may prefer to stay in their own home and support can be delivered in non accommodation based services. Support is provided where the customer is living. Examples of these types of services are Community Alarms or Floating Support Services.
The following organisations and agencies can apply on someone's behalf to receive a support service, subject to the eligibility criteria for that service or for some services you may be able to apply directly
