Supporting People services that are intended to last for more than 2 years can mean that the person recieving them may have to pay all or a proportion of the charges for them.
Most people will be entitled to some help towards their service charges.
If you recieve Housing Benefit you could get your Supporting People charges paid for. You can check with your support provider to make sure that this is happening. Or if you would prefer you can contact the Supporting People Team directly to enquire.
If you are not in receipt of Housing Benefit you could still be entitled to help with your Supporting People charges.
How much help you may be able to get depends on what you are able to pay and not what the cost of your support is.
If you choose to make an application we would need some details about you and the income you recieve. Supporitng People charging assessments are carried out by the Community Care Finance Team. If you already had a Fairer Charging assessment for other services you recieve, this could also cover your Supporing People charges.
If you would like more information on whether you could get help then please use the links below to our leaflet or Kingston's Fairer Charging Policy.
If you would like to apply directly for a Fairer Charging assessment you can do this by contacting the Community Care Finance Team by email on ccs-financeteam@rbk.kingston.gov.uk
