100% grants for energy efficiency works
Including:
- Replacement of boiler over 15 years old with a modern condensing or high efficiency boiler
- Heating controls
- Cavity wall insulation
- Loft insulation
- Draught-proofing
and for improving heating/hot water
Including:
- Replacement of defective boiler with a modern condensing or high efficiency boiler
- Provision of a mini central heating system
other essential works may be available when heating and insulation measures are carried out.
How to qualify for a Coldbuster Grant
You must be an owner occupier, council or private tenant and be on an income related benefit. For instance:
- Guarantee Pension Credit
- Income Support
- Housing Benefit
- Council Tax Benefit
- Income Based Job Seeker's Allowance
- Working Tax Credit with income of less than £15,592
- Child Tax Credit with income of less than £15,592
- Disability Living Allowance
- Attendance Allowance
- Income-related employment and support allowance
In addition, if the grant is for improved heating, you must be aged 60 or over or be disabled.
PLEASE NOTE: Grants are subject to a condition that if a grant is given to an owner-occupier or a private tenant and the property is sold within 10 years of the completion of the works, then the grant is repayable by the owner.
