What Kingston Council and partners are doing
The Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) is a multi agency partnership.
The DAAT is responsible for commissioning services to deliver the 'National Drugs Strategy - 'Tackling
Drugs to Build a Better Britain' at a local level, ensuring a multi-agency approach to drug and alcohol
work in the borough.
In Kingston the membership of the DAATincludes representatives from
the following agencies:
- Police
- Probation
- Primary Care Trust
- Housing
- Youth Support Services
- Education
- General Practitioner
- Health Services
- Drug and Alcohol Services
The
DAAT aims to ensure that residents of the borough who are drug users and those who are family/mentors
of drug users have access to good quality information, advice and support services. We also want to
make sure that our young people are educated and made aware of the issues and problems around drugsand
alcohol and can access support if required.
Our services are all being developed in line with guidance from the
National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).
