There are charges for some services but many are free. You will not have to pay for your assessment. There is generally no charge for mental health services.
If we charge you for the services we provide, the amount you pay will depend on the type of service you get and on your financial circumstances, and ability to pay.
If you think you cannot afford our charges, you can ask for a financial assessment. We will then work out how much you have to pay by looking at your finances to see what money you have left over after the cost of certain items have been taken into account. Your charge will then be no more than 50% of the money you have left over or the actual cost of the service, whichever is the lower amount. In certain circumstances we can reduce our charges to you or provide services free of charge. We can also help you to claim welfare benefits that you may be entitled to.
We will always tell you how much services will be before you agree to them.
The charges listed here run from 31 March 2008 to 29 March 2009. They relate to Home Care services, Relief Care/Short breaks, Careline, the Shopping only service, the Laundry service, Mobile Meals and Day Care services.
