Support Groups for Carers

NEW GP Practice based support groups for carers

Journey times can often put carers off attending meetings and support groups, so working closely with GP Practices, Kingston Carers' Nertwork have set up monthly carer support groups in Chessington and Kingston and soon there will be one in New Malden and Surbiton. Carers do not have to be registered as a patient with the surgery to attend, but can simply choose whichever meeting suits them best.

To find out more, contact Kingston Carers Network on  020 3031 2757 or email admin@kingstoncarers.org.uk

Dementia Cafe for Carers of People with Memory Loss

Carers of people with memory loss are welcome to come to the monthly Cafe, an informal way of meeting others, sharing experiences and getting information and advice. The person being cared for and other family members are also welcome to come along. The venue is a purpose built venue for people with dementia and provides a secure environment.

Usually the last Wednesday of every month, 6pm to 8pm, Amy Woodgate House, Nigel Fisher Way, Chessington. KT9 2SN

Held in the beautiful grounds of Amy Woodgate, the Carers' Cafe is the perfect opportunity to come and socialise with others. It's not always easy to come to a group for the first time, so if you haven't been before one of the members would be happy to meet up with you beforehand. Although usually the last Wednesday of the month, on special occasions the day of the cafe changes, so we recommend you ring them to check beforehand.
