The South West London Adoption Consortium is a partnership of local authority adoption agencies including the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, the London Borough of Merton, the London Borough of Sutton and the voluntary adoption agency Action for Children.
We joined together in 2003 to establish a local and coordinated service whose primary aim is to match children with adopters with as little delay as possible. Working in partnership and sharing resources means we can offer a greater range of choice for children and adopters and this brings about improved outcomes for all.
We regularly share information about children and families waiting, offer joint preparation training and where appropriate, provide joint post-adoption support services to those who are affected by adoption.
The mutual help and collective expertise of our adoption agencies enables the consortium to offer a full range of training and support for potential adopters, adoptees, birth parents and adoptive families after placement. We also arrange for our staff to have specialist training, which allows us to be experts in our field.
If you would like to find out more about the work and activities of the South West London Adoption Consortium, the next adoption information meeting or preparation training available, or about post adoption support, please contact any one of us for further information.
