Children's Emergency Duty Team (Out of Hours Children's Social Work Service) (CEDT) We understand that not all major or unexpected problems happen during normal office hours. The Royal Borough of Kingston provides emergency duty social services for children, young people and their families jointly with the neighbouring London boroughs of Richmond, Merton and Sutton. To contact this service, please call 020 8770 5000. The automated message will go through a number of options and you should follow the instructions when they direct you to press the number 9 on your telephone keypad. Any contact with the CEDT has to go through the Sutton call centre and please hold on until they answer. When they do answer you should make it clear that you are seeking support from the CEDT as a Kingston resident. The call centre staff will take a message for the social work team. They will call the duty social worker, who will call you back and give you advice on how to deal with the problem. Children's Emergency Duty Team |
In order to apply for the advocacy service please ask your social worker for a referral, this will be available via the Service Manager who will in turn contact the ANR. The ANR will appoint an advocate. Although access to the service is only available in this way, publicity materials make it clear that the service provider is independent of Kingston Learning and Children Services.
