Pedestrian Crossings
In certain circumstances we may introduce measures such as zebra or pelican crossings, to help pedestrians. We are also updating zebra crossings into new ‘puffin’ crossings in a number of areas.
Puffin crossings reduce waiting time for pedestrians, ensure that enough time is allowed for pedestrians to cross and minimise delays to traffic. These new crossings have detectors which sense that someone is waiting to cross and 'watch' the pedestrians crossing.
