We are responsible for the scheduled cutting of highway grass verges. The grassed areas include roundabouts, central reserves, highway greens and roadside verges. The contract allows for up to fifteen Borough-wide grass cuts per annum. Weather permitting the cutting starts in January and finishes in October/November.
Prior to cutting our contractor removes all litter, stones and other items of rubbish. Trimming (strimming) around all obstacles, along boundaries and to all edges will take place at the same time as mowing each area of verge. Grass cuttings which fly onto pavements, drives or channels will be blown off the surface and distributed evenly on the grass area.
Grass cutting on Council House land is carried out by the Grounds Maintenance Contractor and should in the first instance be reported to the Estate Manager.
