The Council provides all residents in houses around the borough with the facilities to recycling some of their waste on the kerbside. The Green Box Recycling service is a fortnightly collection of the following material:
If you would like to take part in this collection please contact the Waste Management team using the details given below or alternatively you can complete online recycling box request form.
If you are not sure when your rubbish or recycling day is, you can find out by using our Local Information postcode search below. You can find out all your local services, including your rubbish or recycling day. Find your Recycling Collection Day
The Council currently collect green boxes from a number of converted flats throughout the borough. However, we have been unable to increase this due to difficulties with set up and collection. There is currently a trial scheme for recycling in low rise and high rise flats around the borough.
Please put each type of material i.e. glass bottles and jars, newspapers and magazines, cans, and tins in separate carrier bags or separate green boxes. Put your green box at the edge of your property, clearly visible near the pavement, on your collection day by 7.00am.
Please note: your Green Box may not be emptied if the recyclable materials are not separated correctly or if non-recyclable materials are placed in the box.
