What You Can Recycle

The following chart presents a guide to the items accepted at the Kingston HRRC (Household Re-use and Recycling Centre) located in the Villiers Road site. The bins at the Recycling Centre are easy to identify and the site staff will help and advise you.

Paper and Magazines (not shredded)

Books

Cardboard

Video tapes, DVD's

Plastic Bottles

Rigid Plastics

Glass Bottles & Jars (mixed colours)

Sheet Glass

Food & Drink Cans

Scrap Metal

Green Garden Waste

Wood, MDF, Ply etc.

Textiles, Clothes, Shoes

Fibre backed Carpet

Waste Engine Oil

Cooking Oil

Car Batteries, Domestic Batteries

Fluorescent Tubes & Longlife Bulbs

Large Electrical Goods

Mattresses

Small Electrical Appliances

Computer Equipment

The following materials cannot be accepted for recycling

Tyres
Gas bottles
Shredded paper
Oil based paints
Garden & domestic chemicals
Asbestos
Industrial or Trade Waste (including recyclable waste)

The volumes of Soil, Rubble and other DIY/Building and Construction Waste accepted are restricted

Plasterboard is also restricted and must be separated from all other materials before it is taken to the site.
