Planning and Telecommunications
The Council has prepared a note to help members of the public understand the how the planning system works in relation to proposals for telecommunications equipment (such as masts and antennae).
The purpose of the note is to explain as simply as we can what the Council's powers are in terms of controlling telecommunications development, the different types of permission required to install such equipment, and how the public can have their say. The note does not attempt to be the definitive source of all information on what is a complex subject area. A selection of relevant links are provided below to other useful sources.
