Pre-Application Advice
Kingston has a charged pre-application advice service. Further details on what this service will provide, including what types of development it will apply to, costs involved, response and timeframes is available in the ‘Guidance Note’ below.
All requests for pre-application advice should be accompanied by the ‘Pre-application Advice Service Form’, any relevant information and the fee.
The formal pre-application advice service is aimed at providing applicants with an improved, streamlined, and more detailed level of advice which adds value to the overall development process.
This new service supports a ‘whole of development’ approach that is available through the alignment of Building Control and Development Control under the one Department (Development Management). This means that Kingston can provide advice and a service from the initial design stage all the way through to construction and completion.
Please note that, although any pre-application advice that has been given will be taken into account if a subsequent planning application is made, any advice given is not legally binding upon the Local Planning Authority and does not constitute a formal decision or guarantee planning permission will be granted.
