Core Strategy Examination

Inspector David Vickery DIPT&CP MRTPI conducted the Examination public hearings in September 2011 to determine whether the Core Strategy is sound. This was followed by a further round of consultation for six weeks on changes to the Core Strategy relating to soundness, which finished on 11 November 2011. The Inspector considered representations received to this consultation when writing his report. The representations can be found below under "Post Hearing Consultation Documents".

The Council received the Inspector's final report on 8 December 2011, which found that Kingston's Core Strategy is sound.

The Inspector's report contains binding recommendations for the Council and the recommended changes must be incorporated into the Core Strategy before it is adopted. The report and recommendations can be found following the links below.

Towards Adoption

The Core Strategy was formally adopted by the Council on 17 April 2012. Please see the link at the bottom of the page for further information.
