Planning
There are a number of different teams within the Planning Department. They comprise Development Management, Enforcement, Building Control and Strategic Planning (which includes LDF and Policy, Partnerships and Implementation and Projects).
Development Management
If you need planning consent, Development Management will deal with your planning application. They also deal with listed building consents and offer general planning advice.

Building Control
Building Control ensures that building works comply with the requirements of the Building Regulations and Building Acts. You will require a building control inspection for any development in the Borough.

Strategic Planning
Strategic Planning has responsibility for a range of land use policies and guidance including the Unitary Development Plan (UDP) and the Local Development Framework (LDF). Its remit also covers project and implementation work.
