Surbiton Filterbeds

Planning Application (October 2011)

A planning application has been submitted to the Council as Local Planning Authority for the development of the Surbiton Filter Beds site on Portsmouth Road for 64 residential homes on a floating pontoon, a 92 berth marina and lock gate, restaurant, landscaping and car parking; as enabling development to provide a publically accessible nature reserve, riverside walk, heritage and education centre, flood storage and a river taxi stop. The application is accompanied by an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Environmental Statement.

The submission of the application follows pre-application public consultation by developer/applicant Cascina and Hydro Properties Limited in 2010.

In January 2012 the Council received amended plans and additional information relating to the planning application and environmental statement.

At this stage there remain some unresolved ecology issues and further amendment to the application is likely to be required. The planning application and the environmental statement will be reported to Development Control Committee for determination, but there is no date for this meeting at the current time.

As well as being available on-line, you can also see a copy of the planning application, supporting plans and documents and the Environmental Statement at Surbiton Library and at the Council’s Information  and Advice Centre in Guildhall 2, High Street , Kingston (between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday).
