Street Trees

There are over 12,000 street trees within the borough.  All the trees are surveyed over a three year period and assessed for works before being added to the contract.  If you have any concerns regarding a street tree please read the Street TreesFrequently Asked Questions Leaflet available by contacting the Customer Care Team or downloading it from the link at the bottom of the page.  If you have any further questions after reading the leaflet please inform the Customer Care Team.

Only trees that are dead, dying, or dangerous will be considered for removal.

Crossovers (drop kerb)

All applications for vehicle crossovers are made through the Highways Construction section.

When an application is received to construct or extend a vehicle crossing, the general presumption will be to refuse it where there is a conflict with a street tree.

If a Tree officer considers the tree in question can be removed there will be a condition that new tree(s) must be planted.

The cost of the tree removal and the replacement will be charged to the applicant as part of the vehicle crossing works.

For further information and an application form please contact the Customer Care Team
