Street Trees

Trees Lining the Streets of our Borough

There are over 12,000 trees standing in the streets of the Royal Borough.

Street trees bring life to urban areas. They provide colour and structure to the street scene and are an important habitat for a wide range of urban wildlife. Street trees ultimately keep the air we breathe fresh and clean.

We are responsible for all of the trees planted on the public highways.

A professionally qualified Tree Officer has been appointed to manage the trees on our streets. The Tree Officer’s task is to inspect all the street trees to ensure they are well maintained and in a healthy condition. This is achieved by inspecting each street tree once every 3 years. The Tree Officer instructs our partner, Advanced Tree Services (ATS), to carry out pruning maintenance where required.
