Victoria Recreation Ground is a medium size site of some 8.25 acres, situated on Balaclava Road and at the bottom of Victoria Avenue.
The site is very popular at all times of the year especially with picnickers. There are three tennis courts which are leased to a qualified LTA coach and open the public. An automatic Pay and Display machine is situated next to the courts and works on the same principle as those found in car parks, all players are urged to use it.
Ladies and gents toilets can both be found on site and a separate disabled toilet is attached to the ladies.
The large playground is very popular, with equipment suitable for children aged between 3 to 14 years.
We have two football pitches and one cricket pitch on site and they can be booked through the council’s Booking Officer, contact details below.
The site is very popular with picnickers in the summer and schools use the site to hold their sports days.
Buses to this site include the K3.
