Fishponds Park

King Charles Road
Surbiton
KT5 8ST

Fishpond Park is a large site of 13.5 acres fronted by Ewell Road and borders onto Hollyfield Road and King Charles Road to the side and rear.

To the rear of the site is a nature conservation area which is very popular with dog walkers. From the bottom pond there is a clear view of St. Matthew’s Church. It is a nice site for picnics. At certain times of the year the church organise a variety of events in the park.

In the middle of the park there is a planted up area popularly known as ‘the dell’ which is a blaze of colour in the spring. On the bend on the main track off the Ewell Road entrance used to be a couple of Ash trees which had to be removed because of a fungal disease. On one of these trees the main trunk has been left and sculptured into a depiction of the coat of arms of Kingston.

Ball games are not allowed on this site as it is a place of sanctuary for the bird life.

Bus routes that pass this site are the 281, 406, and 418.
