Elm Road Recreation Ground

Elm Road
Kingston upon Thames
KT2 6HR

Facilities

  • Playground
  • Football

Elm Road Recreation Ground is one of our smallest recreation grounds covering an area of just over 2 acres. It is 'boxed' in between the Elm Road Medical Centre, Elm Road Primary School, Elm Road (which is the main entrance to the site) and a pedestrian entrance on Acre Road.

The recreation ground contains a large playground complete with equipment suitable for children age 3 to 14 years. The playground is very popular with after school play and can fill up very quickly. We also have 5-a-side goal posts for the older kids to blow off some steam.

There is also a large grass area which is very popular with local dog walkers and, like all our parks; there is a poop-a-scoop collection scheme in force.

Unfortunately in the past this site has fallen victim to a variety of anti-social behaviour. However we are happy to say that over the last two years, with the help of the Save the World Club Community Project, this is now a thing of the past.

The Community Project was inspired by a local artist who used her skills to design a 48 square metre wall in the playground to depict scenes of different communities from around the world. Local children and adults helped carry out the work and more information can be found in the contact link below.

Buses to this area include the K5. The site is also within easy walking distance from Kingston town centre.
