With the aim of capturing the beauty and biodiversity of the Hogsmill Valley Walk and raise its public profile, Kingston Council in partnership with Snappy Snaps Kingston organised 'The Colours of Kingston - Hogsmill Photography Competition 2006'.
The competition had two levels of entry, adults and children (up to 16 years) and six categories to choose from:
• landscapes
• local Fauna (birds, insects, others)
• local Flora (trees, bushes, flowers, etc)
• community enjoyment
• urban and nature relationship
• miscellaneous
About 40 amateurs photographers entered the competition offering refreshing views of the river and its context. See winning entries below:
