Green Lane recreation ground playground proposed relocation

The Council and Thames Water are pleased to announce plans for the relocation of the children’s play area in Green Lane recreation ground.  The playground has been closed since July 2007 due to sewage contamination from a Thames Water sewage pipe that runs under the recreation ground.

The works, funded by Thames Water, will be overseen by our grounds maintenance partners Quadron Services.  You can see the proposed location map and what equipment is being installed by downloading the documents at the bottom of the page.

If you would like to comment on the proposals please follow the link on the left hand side of the page and leave your comments by the 5 May 2008.

Resolution to the Sewage Pipe Issue

A resolution to the ongoing problem of the sewage pipe discharging effluent onto the park is being investigated by senior council officers and Thames Water engineers.  We would like to thank you for your patience whilst this problem is resolved.

The new proposed location of the play ground can be seen on the document at the bottom of the page.  Details of the play equipment to be installed in also available to download at the bottom of the page.
