The Lady of Burma

This powerful and critically acclaimed play is on a national tour following sell-out performances during the Edinburgh Festival and at Riverside Studios.  The Lady ofBurma tells the inspirational story of Burmese leader Aung San Suu Kyi, the democratically elected leader of Burma who has endured house arrest for over a decade. C-SCAIPE invites residents to come along to this evening workshop to explore what makes a sustainable community.  Concepts such as eco-villages to sustainable cities will be discussed and participants will get the opportunity to share their vision of a sustainable Kingston. This is a free event.

Green Film Night
Kingston University screen The 11th Hour
The 11th Hour is an eco-conscious docu-film produced and presented by inspired environmentalist and internationally famous Leonardo DiCaprio. Released only two days prior to our screening, The Kingston University Sustainability Team warmly welcomes all members of the community to join us in watching this long awaited production at our Green Film Night. The 90 minute film will be followed by an open floor for comment and discussion.

Come along to the Eco home and receive expert advice on how to reduce your ecological footprint without making huge changes to your life.

Throughout the Festival, Bentalls will be showcasing their expanding range of ecological products both in-store and in their window displays. In-store products include bio-degradable household cleaning products, recycled cardboard chopping boards and the Green Planet Frying pans with recyclable harvested bamboo handle. 20% of the price of any Green Planet Frying pan will be donated to Paint The Town Green.

Paint The Town Green is a joint initiative between Kingston Green Fair, Green Futures Festivals Save the World Club, the Eco-Footprinting Working Group, the Surrey Comet and Green Guardian, Kingston Green Radio, Kingston University Sustainability Team, Positive Environment Kingston,  Kingston Freecycle, the Kingston Permaculture Group,and Kingston Council.
