Kingston in Bloom

It’s not all about flowers!

Kingston in Bloom is encouraging sustainability principles among gardeners in the borough. Sustainable gardening is about creating long term green spaces that contribute to enhance local biodiversity.

Kingston has approximately 13% open space made up of parks, golf courses and a nature reserve. Only 2% is managed for nature conservation, therefore managing other green spaces such as domestic gardens as a biodiversity source is crucial. Domestic gardens are becoming increasingly important as a reliable food source for British wildlife.
