The sustainability
challenge is for us to find ways to experience rewarding lives, within the limits of one planet. How
well are we doing?
The ecological footprint (or eco-footprint for short) is a tool to measure our ecological performance. It tracks how much individuals, organisations, cities, regions and nations, or humanity as a whole consumes and compares this amount to the resources nature can provide, for example land, water energy and other resources).
Sound complicated? Actually it's very simple, all you need to do is open the EcoFootprint leaflet (PDF file 931KB) and tick the boxes that best match your life style, then check your average. The leaflet also contains interesing facts and simple tips on how to reduce your personal impact or ecological footprint. Alternatively, you can follow the link below and calculate it online.
