Sustainable Construction

In 2004, in collaboration with Kingston University, we published the Supplementary Planning Guidance document 'Sustainable Construction'.  This can be obtained from the Town Planning Shop web page.

We have also worked with the London District Surveyors' Association (LDSA) and have helped produce a Construction Waste Guide entitled 'Reducing, Recycling and Reusing Demolition and Construction Waste', together with Guides to Sustainable Design and Construction aimed at both Architects and Householders.  These can be accessed from the links below.

The green register was initiated by a Southwark based architectural practice, Archipeleco, and Southwark building control to create a network of construction professionals with sustainable accreditation.
  • The Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP)
    The Waste and Resources Action Programme was established in 2001 in response to the UK Government's Waste Strategy 2000 to promote sustainable waste management.  WRAP is set up as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee by DEFRA, the DTI, and the devolved administrations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.  This site provides access to WRAP's information on materials resource efficiency for the construction sector.
