The Council’s online Integrated Spacial Information System (ISIS) provides free, up-to-date, 24hr access to considerable data including historic Planning and Building Control information as far back as the 1880’s. In respect of Building Regulations applications made since 2002, scanned images of decision notices and completion certificates may be freely available. Please visit ISIS Maps (link under Also See below) where you can check the existence and status of applications and search for documents by property address.
Unlike Planning Applications there is no general public right to inspect plans deposited under the Building Regulations. However, as the owner of a property we do allow you (or your agent) to examine previously submitted plans where, for example, you are doing so in order to help prepare an application under the Building Regulations.
Plans are protected under Copyright and therefore copies cannot be provided without the express permission of the Architect/Author.
We endeavour to provide a prompt response to requests, but please allow 10 working days for replies to copy requests. Payment is required in advance and cheques should be made payable to “Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames” (VAT applies to all items and has been included in the costs shown).
Our office opening times are 08.45am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, 08.45am to 4.45pm Fridays. Appointments are not usually necessary but it is advisable to check that we do have the records before visiting or sending in your payment.
