About our Primary Schools

We have a wide range of Primary Schools in Kingston. Nursery Education is provided at a Nursery School and Nursery Classes attached to 22 Primary and Infant Schools. The borough has 37 Primary schools (including Infant and Junior) of which 14 are Church Schools.

Age Range of Primary Schools

• The Nursery School caters for children aged 3 - 5 years old.
• Infant Schools provide education for 5 - 7 year olds.
• Some Infant Schools have Nursery Classes attached to them admitting pupils before they are 5 years old.
• Junior Schools cater for pupils aged 7 - 11 years old.
• Primary Schools provide education for 5 - 11 year olds.  
• Some Primary schools also have Nursery Classes attached to them admitting pupils before they are five years old.
