How to Apply as an Newly Qualified Teacher

Newly Qualified? Be the teacher you want to be

About Laura McSharry - Secondary School Science TeacherIf you are a Newly Qualified Teacher the Borough has an online database ‘Talent Pool’ which offers NQTs an opportunity to register for appointments in both Primary and Secondary schools in Kingston.

The website can be accessed on:
http://kingstonuponthames.talentpool.eteach.com

The benefit to you is that you will need to register only once. Your application will then go live on the site and all Schools will be able to view your CV and contact you directly with offers of interviews if they have positions which are suitable. Selection of candidates will be carried out by each School. If you are successful please note that you will be asked to sign certain declarations before you start working for us.

Our Schools also advertise their vacancies on eteach.com and in the TES. If you see a post advertised by a Kingston school which you are particularly interested in, please contact them and let them know that you have registered on the ‘Talent Pool’.

There will be no actual closing date, the process will continue until all of our schools' NQT posts are filled. However, the process will be advertised from October until May of the year of appointment.

To help you find a place once our NQT positions are filled, we will share your data with the South London Group - a partnership of all South London Boroughs. We do this every year on or after the 12 June, unless you request us not to do so in writing when you apply.

Stages in the Process

As part of the registration process, please ensure you read the person specification below and address all the selection criteria for NQT when you apply or your application may not be accepted. Please complete all the required fields and press ‘submit’ at the end to fully register.  You will receive an email to confirm that registration has been successful.

For guidance, please refer to the Candidate User Guide.
