Maintained schools in the Royal Borough of Kingston base their schemes of work for RE on the statutory requirements of the Kingston Agreed Syllabus.
In reviewing the Kingston Syllabus in 2005/06, the Agreed Syllabus Conference consulted guidance available in the National Framework for Religious Education.
The National Framework for Religious Education was produced by the Government Department for Education and Skills and the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority in October 2004 as a non-statutory guidance document to support local authorities (and others with responsibility for the provision and quality of religious education) to produce their Agreed Syllabuses.
