Introduction

Extended Schools Services for children over five are provided through groups of local schools. These groups are called "clusters". The schools in the Surbiton Town Cluster are as follows:

Services Provided in Surbiton Cluster

Childcare

Kingston's Children's Information Service has a full list of registered childcare providers, including childminders. They can also provide advice on choosing childcare before and after school and in the school holidays for your nursery and school age child.

Your school office has contact details and information on all aspects of extended services including: play schemes, toddler groups, child minders, nurseries and much more. Please ask at the school office to have a look at this information. Your school may also host a breakfast club or have links with a provider.  An after-school club is also held at Surbiton YMCA.  Activities and duration of after-school clubs varies between schools, so please check with your child’s school.

For details of activities and a wide range of information for children and parents contact Kingston's Families Information Service, on 020 8547 6582. The information service will also provide lists of free and low cost activities for the weekends and holidays.

All of the schools in the Surbiton Cluster provide activities after school from sports to the arts to cookery.  Some of the activities are free and some are chargeable, please contact individual schools for details.

Homework Club

There is a Homework Club at Kingston Libraries which is FREE for 8-14 year olds.

  • Tolworth - Wednesday from 4 - 5.30 pm

Family Support

Family Liaison Workers are based within clusters to support local children and their families and carers. If you would like extra support or would like to speak to someone for advice please call Advancing Services for Kingston Kids (ASKK).

The introduction of children's centres through the borough will allow enhanced provision of parenting support and an increase in the range of support and activities for Kingston residents.

Family Learning

Family Learning operates in most schools, and all primary schools participate in the borough’s Family Fortnight.
