Courses Running January to May 2012
Drumming Circle
The djembe (African drum) is one of the most popular percussion instruments worldwide. Djembe circles can be found from beaches in Costa Rica to parks in Russia. Playing a drum has been proven to be therapeutic, social, improve intelligence and of course lots and lots of fun. You will learn the most common African drum patterns plus have plenty of chance to make up your own beats. Drums are provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
All ages and abilities welcome.

Music Makers (Garage Band) Family plus!
The Music Makers course is a fun and creative course which will give participants an insight into how to use music production software, how to record and how to go about making their own CD. We use Apple MacBooks and Garageband to compose original pieces of music to develop creative skills. We can record singing, create a sound track for a movie you have made (please bring your movie in on a disc or memory stick) or compose a ringtone for your phone.
Mums and dads are welcome to join in too! Come and share the fun. Adults will only be charged £10 and must be accompanied by a child!
Suitable for ages 7 – 11 (and parents)
Monday 2 April 1pm - 4pm

Animation – Animazing! Family Plus!
In this comprehensive and popular course participants will use cameras and software to produce their own animations. Although part of the course will be the animation of clay figures, participants are welcome to bring toys and objects to work with. Each person will go home with a CD of their own and other people’s animations.
Mums and dads are welcome to join in too! Come and share the fun. Adults will only be charged £10 and must be accompanied by a child!
Suitable for ages 8 – 14 (and parents)
Tuesday 3 April 10am - 4pm, with 1 hour for lunch
Cost: £22

Payments must be made in cash the day of the course.
We reserve the right to cancel the course.
The final day for bookings will be 29 March
Please bring packed lunches and make sure all belongings are marked with your name.
Courses for Young People
Courses currently running weekly
Mondays, 5pm to 6.30pmA workshop for aspiring young performers and composers. Gives the opportunity to play together with other young people and develop all round musicianship. All instruments welcome!
Suitable for ages 16 to 24.Price: £45 for 10 weeks / £5 per session.

Courses for Adults
The following courses are suitable for those aged 18 and above.
Wednesdays, 8pm to 10pmA course of workshops offering you the chance to build on your skills and knowledge within a band environment. The course will explore a range of tunes and chord progressions, specialising in jazz and blues.
Price: £50 for 6 weeks or £9 per session
