ITQ Progamme Information

Who can apply?

   Client group

  • Unemployed people aged 18 and over who would benefit from gaining skills and a qualification to support their entry into employment or further training.

   Eligibility

  • May or may not be signing on at the job centre
  • May be working under 11 hours per week providing availability for training is unaffected
  • Minumum requirement of Entry Level 3 in Literacy and Entry Level 2 in Numeracy

When would I attend?

   Duration

  • Between 15 to 32 weeks

   Attendance

  • Monday to Friday between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm
  • Up to 30 hours per week (restricted to 15 hours for those signing on at job centre)

What training would I receive?

   IT training

  • Word
  • Internet and Email
  • Windows
  • Option for Excel or PowerPoint

   Personal Development

  • Job search skills
  • Communication
  • Health and safety

   Work experience

  • Placements arranged with employers according to need

   Assessment

  • NVQ Assessor visits to placement
  • In-house assessment of simulated tasks

What qualification could I achieve?

   Intermediate level IT

  • ITQ - IT User NVQ Level 2 (EDI)

How would I be supported?

   Financial

  • Free to participants – fully funded by London South Learning & Skills Council

   Special Needs

  • ESOL, literacy and numeracy support
  • Help for people with disabilities

   Personal

  • Personal Tutor for guidance and support
  • Progression interview and exit plan
  • Job search support

  • All year round roll-on, roll-off entry dates and assessment for course suitability
